PLATE SEPARATOR / WASH DOWN PITS / SILT TRAPS / OILY WATER

Oily Water, Wash Down Pits and Silt Traps are various names for a Plate Separator Pump Tank. Plate Separator Pump Tanks are designed for areas such as Mechanical Workshops and Service Stations to collect wash down water from floors and drains in workshops and motor part wash down areas thus preventing the oily waste from entering the sewer system.

Oils, silt & grease are washed down drains into a Pump Tank that disperses the waste and water into a Plate Separator where the oily waste is retained and the clean water is pumped into sewer system. The Plate Separator Tank needs to be pumped out on a regular basis to maintain efficiency and help avoid overflows and breakdowns.

Sutton’s can pump and clean the Plate Separator Pump Tank and transport the waste to a DES (Department of Environmental & Science) approved disposal facility where the waste is treated. As per DES regulations, a DES Waste Transport Certificate can be supplied or the service can be reported direct to DES reporting system.

Plate Separator systems also require periodic servicing by a qualified plumber.

STORM WATER PUMP TANK

Storm water pump tanks are found in basements of buildings and car parks, they are engineered to prevent basements from flooding by collecting water and debris washed down from rain. Rubbish, silt and dirt are collected in the Tanks and the excess water is pumped to the sewer system. These tanks need pumping out approximately once a year to help prevent an overflow of rubbish and silt, flooding, pump break downs and silt and rubbish making its way into the sewer system.

Suttons has a specially designed small truck we call Blow Fly that can access underneath car parks & buildings to pump and clean the tanks efficiently.

GROSS POLLUTANT TRAPS

Gross Pollutant Traps are located in car parks; they are intended to catch all rubbish, sand & silt from the car park to prevent the waste making its way into waterways and wetlands. Over time silt and rubbish build up, requiring the tanks to be pumped out to prevent flooding, pump break downs and an overflow of waste and rubbish.

Suttons can pump and clean Gross Pollutant Traps with a specially designed truck proficient at pumping sand and silt sludge.

PUMP TANK

Pump tanks are used in various situations to disperse effluent water to the sewer system where the water doesn’t drain easily. Pump tanks need frequent cleaning to prevent a build-up of lint and sludge that can affect the lifespan and reliability of the pump.
